Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can Pre-employment Medicals really make a difference?

Around 65% of all manual handling injuries walk through your front gate. Thorough Pre-employment Screening can and will prevent these injuries. Although many providers may 'tick the right boxes' on paper, truly effective service means significantly reducing your injury costs. Suremploy has a track record of delivering savings that set us apart. We will make key commitments to stand by our service and guarantee our outcomes.
  • Are your services tailored to my needs?

Every work site is individually assessed by our expert staff and whether we are providing Pre-employment Medicals, Safety Training or Ergonomic Services, we do not believe it is possible to deliver an "off the shelf service" that is of outstanding quality. In the case of Pre-employment Medical assessments we will assess every job description you hire staff into, in order to ensure that we set the assessment level exactly right. This enables us to never exclude staff that could safely perform the inherent requirements of the job but, equally, it gives you assurance that we will never allow an injury to walk through your front gate.
  • Does Suremploy do drug screening?

Suremploy staff have been trained by our strategic partners Frontline Diagnostics to perform screening for all illicit drugs at the Pre-employment Screening stage. We use urinalysis testing as we believe it is the most reliable and affordable screening method, whilst also being the most difficult to falsify.
  • Does Suremploy do audiometric testing?

Yes, our staff are trained to perform hearing testing to the highest standards. We use accurate equipment and each site is equipped to test your staff well within accepted levels of background noise. We are experienced in guiding employers through the complex issues around noise related hearing loss, particularly where an applicant has an existing hearing loss at or above the 6% compensable level.
  • Why do you emphasise Supervisors in Manual Handling Training?

We believe the Supervisor is the only person in authority who is physically present when the workers are bending, lifting etc., which makes the supervisor perhaps the most under trained resource in injury prevention. Our staff have many years experience training a large number of employees in both safe manual handling and Safety Leadership, across a diverse range of industries. We believe we have developed a uniquely effective approach to improving safety behaviour among manual handling staff, and we have a reputation of delivering very powerful leverage for the resources of our clients.
